The terror of Ebola swiped the Western African countries, including Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. The deadly disease is highly infectious and the mortality rate reaches 90%. According to the WHO, over 1,500 deaths were recorded and thousands of cases confirmed. Heath care workers being infected while treating patients were not unheard of.

Reportedly the annual medical fee for a citizen in those countries is USD 40 to 100. It was resolved to donate US$10,000 via the HKMA Charitable Foundation (Foundation) to Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) to help curb the Ebola epidemic.
