to the homepage of the Hong Kong Medical Association Charitable Foundation (HKMACF).  For
over a decade, the Orchestra and Choir of the Hong Kong Medical Association (HKMA)
have organized numerous charitable projects and received unreserved contributions
from its members and friends of the medical profession. Their efforts have ameliorated
the sufferings of the sick, the poor and under-privileged.
To
better organize these activities and to provide more incentive for the donors,
the Hong Kong Medical Association Charitable Foundation (HKMACF) was inaugurated
on 2nd July 2006. The foundation aims to unite all efforts to support
charitable activities for the needy and also aims to encourage fellow medical
and allied health practitioners to engage in the promotion and advancement of
medical and health sciences in the region. At the steering
stage of the Foundation, I take great pride in sharing with you that we have received
warm support from members over our community. Supporting parties include medical
professionals, corporations, government, non-government organizations and, of
course, the Hong Kong Medical Association. I would like to express my profuse
thanks to all contributing parties for turning the Charitable Foundation from
dreams into reality. Through this informative website,
I wish that more people will be aware about the work of the foundation and comprehend
the significance to take part. We believe donations will not only help the needy
sustain their lives but it could also enrich the soul of the donor. In the future
we hope the foundation will be able to organize more charity events and facilitate
greater quantity of people in need. Dr.
