Appeal for donation for typhoon disaster
in Taiwan
(2009)
八月初颱風「莫拉克」對台灣中南部以及東部地區造成嚴重破壞，豪雨和泥石流令多條村落一夜間被淹沒，導致嚴重的人命損失，無數人痛失家園和摯愛親朋。有見於此，香港醫學會慈善基金即時決定捐出港幣十萬元，透過香港紅十字會，支持當地賑災工作。
慈善基金主席周伯展醫生已於八月廿五日，將十萬元的捐款支票轉交香港紅十字會，由該會國際及賑災服務部副主管劉冰小姐接收。
經過兩個月的時間，我們向醫學會會員及醫療界同業募捐，共收到港幣25,847元捐款。
