捐助受雪災影響之內地同胞
自本年二月初起，我們便開始向慈善基金及醫學會的會員募捐，支持香港紅十字會在內地雪災災區的救援工作。經過兩個月的時間，籌募活動已順利完結，共收到港幣五萬元捐款。我們亦按照早前的承諾，由『香港醫學會慈善基金』的儲備中撥出港幣五萬元以表支持。
我們於四月八日假香港紅十字會總部舉行了一次簡單的支票頒贈儀式，由香港醫學會慈善基金主席周伯展醫生代表將面額港幣十萬元的支票轉交香港紅十字會，由該會副秘書長黃莫輝先生、傳訊及資源發展部主管蘇婉嫻小姐及國際及賑災服務部主管鄒秉熙先生代表接收。據了解，我們的捐款主要會用作支持十個重災省/自治區，包括湖南、湖北、安徽、貴州、四川、雲南、廣西、江西、河南、新疆的衛生院重建工作。
他們更承諾制定監察機制，以確保質量及捐款有效使用。
我們呼籲各位醫學界的同業繼續留意祖國的情況，隨時伸出援手，發揮港人同舟共濟的精神。
